Greyhound Weekend in Catalina

Greyhounds in Catalina ?
Yes, greyhounds in Catalina!

When:  November 21-23, 2008

Why:   Greyhounds, fun, shopping! More greyhounds!

Cost: About $100 per night with a $50 dollar dog fee. About $66.50 for round trip ferry tickets.

To participate in this event, complete the following steps:
  • Arrange for room reservations through Maggie Makie of Catalina Meeting Specialists. Contact her at (310) 510-2199.
  • Arrange for passage to Catalina on the Catalina Express (http://www.catalinaexpress.com/) . There is a one dog per person restriction; muzzles are required. Note: Most participants are leaving out of the Long Beach Downtown landing.
  • Email Ken Isaak, the event coordinator, so he can add you to the participant list: khisaak@isaakscherr.com
Access to the boardwalk areas with the dogs has been arranged. Catalina does not allow other dogs on the boardwalk, but Catalina is making an exception because they believe greyhound owners are responsible owners who clean up after their dogs.

The island of Catalina is looking forward to the march of the greyhounds down the main street.  Be part Catalina Island history and help promote greyhound adoption while you’re there!

Please note: This event is not associated with nor sponsored by CalGap or any other greyhound rescue organization. Contact Ken Isaak with any questions or for additional information.
